1_WIRELESS SOLUTIONS

Wireless Solutions

The demand on wireless infrastructure in schools is ever increasing and we know how important it
is to ensure speed and reliability. There is nothing worse than having a class trying to use mobile devices only to find they are unable to connect or experience very slow speeds. We work closely with our distributors to provide the latest equipment to our schools at a competitive price all whilst ensuring the products are technically up to date, not just to support the devices of today but those in the future.

2_DATA CABLING

Data Cabling

We have an excellent data cabling team who can carry out any size job, from a single data outlet
to an entire new building. We regularly install fibre connections between buildings and cabinets to ensure a high-speed backbone for the infrastructure of the school, ensuring slow speeds in different areas of a building are a thing of the past. We also regularly tidy up cabinets which have been neglected over a number of years to ensure they are fully operational and easy to troubleshoot
any issues should one occur.

3_BROADBAND & FIBRE INTERNET CONNECTIONS

Broadband & Fibre Internet Connections

We have been accredited as a Support Partner for Schools Broadband which will ensure that you get market leading connectivity.

Offering ADSL, FTTC, EoFTTC, FTTP connections and dedicated fibre leased with content filtering and a secure firewall within clear and simple packages.

4_HOSTED TELEPHONE SYSTEMS

Hosted Telephone Systems

Telephone systems are a fundamental part of any school yet are often neglected, increasing costs and the risk of failure. We offer advice on and have installed a variety of systems including our cloud hosted solution which allows use of software and mobile applications to provide remote and flexible working opportunities. This solution is installed in over 35 schools and across Multi Academy Trusts improving their cohesion and assisting in their growth.

5_NETWORK & INFRASTRUCTURE REPLACEMENT

Network & Infrastructure Replacement

Education is our thing which is why we completely understand the unique ways in which a school network runs.

A significant part of our business is replacing, upgrading and refining them to achieve the best possible return on investment.

Our infrastructure services include design and implementation of on-premises and cloud solutions, including networking, server, storage, virtualisation and
email migrations.

6_PRINT MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS

With PaperCut you can account for every page printed and stop any careless waste with some simple tools.

There was only one company that we felt had the credentials to meet our exacting expectations, eduthing. The team of engineers worked above and beyond, not only in the physical transition, but in the ongoing support of staff and Senior Leaders with reassurance. The team worked above and beyond expectations, often late at night and into weekends. The online support from eduthing is available during working hours, with engineers able to resolve 99% of issues remotely and efficiently. We also have access to an onsite engineer for half a day per week. Both aspects of this support serve to reassure staff and students that we have the technology and infrastructure to achieve the world class education our students deserve.

While I am all too aware that eduthing manage the IT solutions in large schools, when it comes to a personal approach in a small special school, they are exceptional. We look forward to many more years on support.

Since its incorporation Eduthing has provided our School with IT infrastructure management and IT strategy development, together with operational technical support and oversight of our student Chromebook scheme. They have provided an incredibly reliable service to the School throughout and are always prepared to go that ‘extra mile‘ if any network issues arise.

We are delighted with the highly professional and efficient service the school has received following the decision to move our business to Eduthing. The staff are knowledgeable and proficient and offer a timely response to issues raised. We have been pleased to act on their recommendations. From the outset, we have enjoyed the collaborative, warm and friendly relationships with all Eduthing staff.

We appointed Eduthing as our IT consultants in April this year and have been very pleased with the service so far. The ethos of the company conveyed by the Managing Director during the tender process and the Primary Schools & Academies Director during our initial meeting was exactly what we were looking for. The support team are always friendly and helpful and will be persistent when trying to resolve the issues within our technology. Our print release software was a particular nightmare, but Eduthing did not give up and we now have a solution.

Our system is in need of updating and we look forward very much to the outcome of the recent IT audit and working with Eduthing to improve hardware, speeds of data and our working practices. We have a lot of work to do and are confident that Eduthing will guide us through this process.

If you want expert, flexible, forward looking support for your IT needs, then I would suggest you look no further than Eduthing. On top of the invaluable help desk (where any day to day issues are quickly dealt with) we have had support with: new servers; extending Wi-Fi access; installation of CCTV; roll out of google classroom and Chromebooks; roll out of Office 365; setting up our digital printer network; procurement of interactive  screens, PCs, iPads and Chromebooks (all at very competitive prices) and the benefit of experts who listen to our needs and are proactive in suggesting solutions. Like all schools we are heavily reliant on our IT infrastructure and with Eduthing we feel that we are in safe hands.

Having made the decision to roll out a Chromebook 1:1 scheme for September 2020 late into the summer term 2020, eduthing did a brilliant job in supporting the school too implement the scheme in a timely and effective manner. They helped in a range of different ways, producing materials for the promotion of the scheme all the way through to the careful managed handing out of the hardware at the start of the new term.  This was a complex roll out that was fraught with many different challenges; however, eduthing were there to help us at every step of the way, ensuring the project was a great success.

We are delighted with our upgraded CCTV system installed in February 2021 by eduthing. The pictures are crystal clear and we can log in from any computer or via an app on our smart phones. The software is fairly straightforward to navigate and you can look at multiple views at one time or just concentrate on one camera. You can take stills as evidence and it has already been very useful, catching some silly behaviour from some rather red faced pupils.

The actual installation was quick and efficient. The engineers were very pleasant and worked closely with us to ensure we ended up with the best coverage of our site. They also provided and installed all appropriate signage so we had nothing to worry about.

Eduthing had inherited and supported since uptake in April, an archaic server setup. As we are a multi-site primary school (historically 3 independent schools that amalgamated in 2011) there were a number of physical servers and domains across the sites. This meant that we had no easily accessible central storage for all staff as well as meaning that staff who worked across multiple sites had different logins for each site.

The impact this project has had is immeasurable. Staff no longer have to wait 20 minutes for machines to start up and login, have access to data from whichever site they are on and also now have the option of accessing the network remotely if working from home. Where snagging issues were raised following the rebuild, a team of technicians were sent to each of the sites and these were quickly and sufficiently rectified. We now have a network and computers that staff, teachers, support and admin, can rely on and who don’t fear things going wrong with their IT during their lessons. The difference in the support that we continue to have, compared to our previous provider, is immeasurable.

In April 2019, following an extensive tender process, we selected Eduthing to deliver a managed IT service at St Matthew’s. With a number of providers in the sector, it was crucial that we partnered with a forward thinking company to help devise a strategy to update our ageing IT infrastructure and classroom technology. Their educational experience and knowledge was key to ensure we invested our budget wisely, with  maximum impact and to best support teaching and learning. The upgrade gave us a solid platform to deploy remote learning quickly and effectively. In partnership with Eduthing, we are now able to confidently take a  proactive approach to our IT.
